A Terrible Thing to Waste: Environmental Racism and Its Assault on the American Mind, by Harriet A. Washington.
Where I learned [more] about capitalism and institutionalized whiteness’s inherent evil — flat out.
This book is incredible and incredibly written, and it is so informative and easy to digest, and I feel like a better person after having read it. I love books like that specifically. I feel smarter but not in a pretentious way; just in a way that’s better equipped to help others in my community and beyond. This one is one of my favorite informative reads (file it under Health and Science), and I’ll be pulling it to review my pink underlinings as often as I need to. Highly recommended.
