Dying of Whiteness: How the Politics of Racial Resentment Is Killing America's Heartland, by Jonathan M. Metzl.
September was an excellent month for new favorites, ‘cause this, too, is one of my favorite books I’ve ever read. This book makes so much sense, and aside from it making sense, it offers very simple and very practical cures for the plague of whiteness that is a political construct and social stronghold which harms everyone. Statistics, data, risk factors, interviews, first-hand accounts, proposals, and proof: this book holds all of it. It is essential reading and will probably be on a Banned Book list because so. But it is essential, and it is so good.
