Tampa, by Alissa Nutting.

So like… the idea of this book’s content is sick. The book itself was incredibly difficult to read throughout, and a large section of me kept wondering what kind of mind sought out the inspiration for this story (followed by the ever-present question of what exactly is the inspiration?). What remains indisputable is this: Alissa Nutting has an INCREDIBLE ability to create both a story and a character so evil that your own morals will inevitably come into question. And, by my standards, that makes her a marvelous writer.
