The Men of Brewster Place, by Gloria Naylor.
Gloria is who I come back to every time I’m feeling disconnected from reading and analysis. Brewster Place, however fictional, revolves something inside me that feels so related and right, I can’t help but wonder about it and its tenants even after the stories are finished. I absolutely loved reading the men’s perspectives this time, and Gloria wrote them so well. The Barbershop was my favorite story within.
