The White Tiger, by Aravind Adiga.

Alright, it took me a lil piece to really get into this novel and understand what it was about, but a little more than halfway through, I’m completely cemented into (and entranced by) a very cunning and clever recital of a class war in India and a poor man’s underailed decision to get out of his caste system by any means necessary. It was hilarious at times, and the format mirrored a personal letter written for the reader by Balram, the protagonist. Although fictitious, the plot is accurate: hard work does not get you the American dream, even in India. It takes a little luck, a little murder, and a lot of cash.
