Things for myself.

I’m a smart girl, but I’m a lonely girl. And sometimes, smart, lonely girls make really dumb decisions - like not closing up the cereal box because even if someone yelled at you for making the food stale, at least someone was there to notice. And smart, lonely girls trust people too soon and spill themselves too easily and get angry at themselves too often and they read too much and talk too little but they figure it out. They always do. Because they’re smart, albeit lonely. But they figure it out. They go to sleep and they wake up and they learn.  They learn and they apply and they move forward. And there may be people who are more occupied than smart & lonely girls and there may be people who know a little bit more than smart & lonely girls, but no one works harder than the smart and lonely girls because working hard is their only option for survival. And if anyone knows how to survive, it’s a girl smart enough to know that she doesn’t deserve to be this lonely for long.
