Essays and Fictions, by Brad Phillips.
This book was incredibly difficult to read in some places, and more than once, I just wanted it to be over so I wouldn’t have to witness any more of the author’s life. I could not separate the essays from the fictions, which is the point, I guess, and even though it was eyebrow-raising and stomach-turning, I still wanted more of it. Brad is an excellent writer and a descriptive one, and I’m so very glad he’s maintained both his artistry and sobriety. Worth your time.
